About
Hi there! I’m Alice, a freelance journalist from Liverpool, currently living in London. I write about various topics, including digital culture, health and fitness, and sex and relationships.
I was previously on staff as a Digital Lifestyle Writer at Stylist Magazine and I have bylines at publications including VICE, Refinery29, Dazed, Glamour and The Independent.
I particularly enjoy writing investigative features, like this one looking into a new dating app where women are paid to talk to men, as well as deep diving into digital trends - did you know that Gen-Z are going viral for pretending to be fake celebrities on TikTok? - and you’ll often find me pondering the wild west of sex and dating in 2023 too.
Without getting too close to sound like a dating app bio (because though I have written about dating app cliches, I am 100% guilty of them), in my spare time, I like to read, watch a healthy combination of great films and so-bad-it’s-good reality TV and try out new restaurants. I also do CrossFit and am actively avoiding becoming the person who makes it their entire personality - although I have written about why women like me love it - as well as yoga, and regular hot girl walks (read: existential crisis Lana Del Rey fuelled stomps around Clapham Common), and I try to leave the country as much as humanly and financially possible (although most of my travel writing is about what I know best, the great north west of England).
If you’re an editor, and would like to commission me on any of the above topics, or you’re someone who would like to know more about me to see if I’d be a good fit for a project you’re working on, send me an email via aliceporterfreelancer@gmail.com.
